HENRY DUNANT SPACE – MARGENCY CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL – FRENCH RED CROSS
Rehabilitation of the Rest Space for Staff and Families at Margency Children's Hospital – French Red Cross..
Rockfon participated in the rehabilitation of the Henry Dunant Space at Margency Children's Hospital – French Red Cross.
The Henry Dunant area at this pediatric hospital has been completely rehabilitated to provide staff and families of hospitalized young patients with a true rest area.
Designed as an integral part of the patient care journey, it is intended to promote well-being for teams, an essential condition for quality patient care.
The project's main objective was to create a rest and recovery environment suited to the demanding schedules of healthcare providers and families: a calm, soothing, bright space where people can relax for a few moments or catch their breath. To achieve this, the design was based on the selection of durable, easy-to-maintain materials, with particular attention paid to visual comfort and acoustic comfort.
Natural light has been enhanced and complemented by soft lighting atmospheres to reduce visual fatigue and strengthen the sense of serenity. Acoustically, the goal was to reduce background noise, attenuate reverberation, and create a muffled atmosphere conducive to rest and recovery.
With this in mind, white Rockfon Pallas modular tiles in A edge (600x600mm and 1200x600mm) were selected. Their high acoustic absorption performance significantly reduces the perceived noise level by limiting echoes and resonances in the space. Their white, uniform surface further enhances the clarity of the environment, while creating a welcoming and soothing aesthetic consistent with the hospital setting.
Thanks to this rehabilitation, the Henry Dunant Space now offers a more comfortable, quieter, and brighter setting—a true moment of calm at the heart of the hospital, serving the well-being of staff and enabling them to remain fully available to children and their families.
